My Journey

How I Got Here

Growing up, I received the same nutrition message that most of us living in the United States received, one that often emphasized convenience and conformity over health. We were told to eat a "balanced" diet based on the food pyramid, which heavily promoted carbs like bread and cereal, moderate dairy and protein, and minimal fats. Low-fat and diet products were marketed as the healthiest choices, and meals often revolved around processed, packaged foods. Vegetables were an afterthought, often served canned or boiled. Sugary snacks and sodas were heavily advertised, while the importance of whole, unprocessed foods was largely overlooked.

Becoming a parent shifted my perspective on nutrition from a mere interest to a vital component of my family’s health. When my daughter was young, I realized that her well-being was largely in my hands, which led me to explore the principles of ancestral nutrition and whole food diets through the Weston A. Price Foundation.

My journey into nutrition deepened as I addressed my own mental health challenges. I found that certain foods had a profound impact on my mood, and by removing them from my diet, I was able to manage my mood disorder without relying on pharmaceuticals. This personal transformation fueled my commitment to explore how food could be a source of healing for my daughter, who was experiencing symptoms that remained unaddressed by conventional and complementary medicine.

In 2016, I became a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner through the Nutritional Therapy Association, which deepened my understanding of how foundational nutrition is to overall health. My pursuit of knowledge continued as I earned a master’s degree in nutrition from the National University of Natural Medicine in
Portland, OR in 2024. Today, I specialize in working with neurodivergent clients who face complex chronic illnesses, offering them support as they navigate lifestyle changes while managing limited physical and emotional resources.

I’m passionate about translating complex scientific concepts into practical, understandable advice. Witnessing my clients experience those “Aha!” moments and celebrating their progress, no matter how small, is incredibly rewarding. My goal is to guide my clients through their health journey, helping them make informed food choices that feel authentic and accessible. I aim to empower them with the tools and confidence they need to support their own well-being and that of their families.
